Unapologetic
Web Design | Branding Design
Let’s go in depth.
Unapologetic is a brand I created for a two-semester-long class project. The project’s first scope was to find an issue today and design a way to solve it. The second was to create a digital interface for my previous problem. The term “issue” was an extremely abstract concept that could be interpreted any way the designer wanted. The problem I decided to tackle was receiving unsolicited advice from others.
The Steps
Research
Individuals often respond to peers’ general issues with unsolicited advice, regardless of whether they are in a similar situation. These people usually come from a place of wanting to help or fix the problem, yet resort to unnecessary or irrelevant advice that can feel like a way to invalidate their personal experiences and cause more irritation than relief.
The suggestions one receives can often feel more critical than helpful, and if the information is repetitive, it can turn into nagging. So, how can we change this?
Development
I built and modeled products to advertise for the company, including stickers, clothing, tickets, and more. Using those physical media options, I built the website as an official platform for my brand to establish a presence.
I continued to build out ideas and inspiration. At this point, I started to execute some pages in Sandbox and finish my wireframes in Figma. The wireframes were extremely useful in preparing the layout I wanted.
Execution
The execution phase was exhausting yet rewarding. I created a successful logo, strong brand components, and consistent designs, as well as developed high-fidelity wireframes in preparation for my website build.
I ensured awareness of my product in the form of a responsive website as the sole platform for my company. I also included dynamic UI patterns to increase the overall accessibility of the site, such as Adaptable View, Pagination, Cards, and Thumbnail patterns.
